ARNOLD ASKS CAA TO DO HIS HEAVY LIFTING
Arnold Schwarzenegger, looking to pump up both his movie career and his charity projects, has signed with CAA for representation in all areas, including his various philanthropic and community efforts. Schwarzenegger, whose films have taken in more than $2 billion at the boxoffice worldwide, is in production on T3: RISE OF THE MACHINES, the second TERMINATOR sequel, which Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute. "I am incredibly excited to be joining CAA," Schwarzenegger said. "The company has a fantastic team of great strategists who work together, continuously thinking outside of the box to further the brands and careers of their clients. I am very enthusiastic to be working with (partners) Bryan (Lourd) and Richard (Lovett). I have total confidence that CAA will be a great partner for me moving forward." The CAA Foundation, the agency's philanthropic arm, proved a key component in the signing. The agency's foundation will be working closely with Schwarzenegger's Inner-City Games Foundation, which serves more than 250,000 kids nationwide with year-round programming after the school day ends; Arnold's All Stars, a pilot after-school program that will be implemented in middle schools; and the actor's newest effort, the After School Education and Safety Act (Proposition 49), an initiative he sponsored for the November California ballot to create quality after-school programs for every elementary and middle school in California in 2004.
