THE FUTURE IS NOW...WELL, DECEMBER 2002, ANYWAY
Only 47 years after the clock tower was struck by lightning, the three BACK TO THE FUTURE movies are being released on DVD, dvdreview.com reported on Tuesday. After countless false or just missed release dates, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has set December 17th as the day Marty McFly and crew will finally be available for home viewing on DVD. Announcements of the full specs of the discs is expected shortly.
THE MUPPETS TAKE MANHATTAN...AND LEXINGTON...AND CLEVELAND...AND...
THE MUPPET SHOW will finally be treated with respect on DVD. Columbia Tri-Star Home Entertainment is rectifying past shoddy releases by readying two volumes of complete, uncut episodes. The episodes still will not be presented in chronological order, but this is a step in the right direction. Both discs will contain three episodes each in their original fullscreen ratios. The first volume will contain episodes guest starring Elton John, Julie Andrews, and Gene Kelly. Volume two will contain the episodes with Paul Simon, Raquel Welch and a very memorable episode with Mark Hamill and his Star Wars buddies. Each volume will also contain television spots.
Coming on September 3rd, THE MUPPET SHOW will be priced at $19.95 apiece. Thanks to dvdreview.com for the story.
DANCE FEVER
Did you ever think you looked like Al Pacino? Are you familiar with torn sweatshirts and singing "What a feeling"? Remember the redneck romance of Bud and Sissy? And did you wonder who the hell would name their son "Wren"? Well, if you've answered any of these questions in the affirmative, be on the lookout for new DVD releases on October 8. Paramount Home Entertainment is releasing SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, STAYIN' ALIVE, URBAN COWBOY, FLASHDANCE and FOOTLOOSE on that day, dvdreview.com reports. Details of all the discs to follow shortly.
